St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Ann Arbor, MI, had a small memorial garden attached to the side of the church. The existing statue had been seriously damaged and an anonymous donor made it possible to purchase a bronze. The artist, a parishioner of this church, was approached about making a sculpture. Having seen the artist's work at Zion Lutheran, they opted for the same theme, but a smaller sculpture in a pose consistent with the reflective mood of the space.
